In light of these uncertain, difficult time cause by due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we realize the challenges and difficult decisions that some may face when deciding to attend our 50th reunion. Your reunion committee members met to discuss how we should address those challenges so all of our reunion attendees felt safe, and more importantly, were kept safe.
After much discussion the committee decided it was in the best interests of all of 1970 classmates to delay and reschedule our celebration. Our new 50th reunion dates are September 24-25, 2021. The reunion format and all activities will remain the same as outlined on this website. Thanks to the efforts of Bill Hawkins, the Sheraton Sand Key Resort has agreed to keep room rates and all reunion costs at 2020 rates. All rooms that have already been reserved will automatically be transferred by the Sheraton Sand Key to the new reunion dates.
The committee knows some of you will be disappointed and some will be delighted with the change in dates. But the consensus was that our safety and well being were more critical during this difficult time than the disappointment of delaying our celebration. We hope those who were planning to attend, will continue to make plans to attend in 2021. And, if you were hesitant to attend, we hope you will now consider to join us in 2021. Registrations will continue to be accepted for the reunion. We were on a good roll with registrations prior to this virus situation. Please frequently continue to visit this website or our Facebook page for updates. You may also submit any questions you may have using the contact form on the Contact page link in this website.
Let’s make our 50th + 1 reunion the best reunion ever. Stay safe, stay healthy!
